In an effort to assist in making your home look it’s very best to online viewers we suggest these be done before the photographer arrives.
The photographer is on a schedule and will not be able to spend extra time while "tidying up" or "rearranging" takes place.
There should be a minimal number of persons present during the photography session.
General
- open curtains and blinds (photographer may request these be closed in extremely sunny conditions
- turn lights on
- remove clutter
- remove items that date the picture (Christmas lights, Halloween decorations etc.)
- remove family pictures if you are concerned with privacy issues
Exterior
- remove cars from driveway;
- remove garbage cans, shovels, rakes and bikes etc.
- make grass and flowerbeds etc. “presentable”
- clear driveway, walkways and decks of leaves, snow etc.
- move BBQ to a position away from windows and doors
- tidy decks, patios and pool
Foyer:
- remove shoes, boots and clothing
- remove boot trays and/or carpets
- clear hall tables of keys and knickknacks
Living Areas (living, dining, family, offices and recreational rooms):
- remove knickknacks, remotes, centre pieces etc.
- remove personal pictures and/or items you do not want photographed
Kitchen:
- remove dishtowels, dishcloths, fridge magnets, children’s art, dish detergent bottles, scrubbers etc.
- clear away dirty dishes
- remove non-essential items from countertops, top of fridge, top of microwave etc.
- remove pet food and water dishes
Bedrooms:
- make beds
- hang clothes in closet
- tidy as much as possible
Bathrooms:
- clear countertops and bathtub ledges
- hang towels
- put toilet seats down
- clean mirrors
Note:
Generally we do not photograph closets, workshops, laundry rooms, garages or areas you prefer not to be shown.
